THE EU ECO-TANDEM ACADEMY

The ECO-TANDEM Academy was delivered from 22 March until 30 May 2021

THE RESULTS

One of our goals in the EU ECO-TANDEM project is to boost sustainable tourism development through knowledge transfer. For that reason, we have developed the ECO-TANDEM ACADEMY where theory meets practice!

Within the ECO-TANDEM ACADEMY we offer two programmes designed for entrepreneurs, managers of SMEs and tourism professionals in the public and private sector: the theory-based ECO-TANDEM Education Programme and the practically oriented ECO-TANDEM Training Programme.

Any interested person can register for FREE for one of the two Programmes or take both in parallel. Having completed the courses will be an asset for being selected to business programme.

OVERVIEW

The ECO-TANDEM Education Programme is a self-study e-learning course that allows participants to access the content at their leisure. We developed ten modules following a scientific approach to provide abundant material about the tourism industry and its future. The modules include theoretical and practical inputs enriched by case studies (good practices) and optional real-time online meetings with experts and practitioners. As a course participant you get an overview of recent developments and first-hand knowledge that you can apply in your daily work.

The first five modules are based on the Graz Model for Integrative Development – a scientific concept to design and assess sustainability processes. We use the model as a guiding tool to follow in the process of creating a vision and turning it into reality. Therefore, we take a look at the UN Sustainable Development Goals and address the role of leadership, social networks, involvement of stakeholders, continuous learning, and integration of research.

Modules 6, 7 and 8 are more practically oriented and overlap with the parallel running ECO-TANDEM Training Programme. Modules 9 and 10 are dedicated to circular economy and assessment of sustainable practices.
